In 2000, a small group of people began to dream about starting an inner city Christian school for the children who need it the most and whose parents could afford it the least. They discovered that the children in urban Augusta were not unlike the children in all urban school districts in America, living in poverty (1 in 3) and under-educated. The schools in the district were some of the worst in the state. Recognizing that under education and social counter-productivity are as closely correlated as smoking and lung cancer, they set about doing the research and raising the money to start a school with an intentional mission to the children from low-income families.

Heritage Academy creates a culture of learning with high expectations for academic, character and spiritual development. The curriculum is rigorous. Children may participate in a Suzuki violin program at no cost. All students participate in our weekly chapel program. Our students have consistently outperformed both national and county averages on standardized tests.

The Kathryn M. York Adapted Aquatics Center is located at the Wilson Family Y. It is dedicated to improving the quality of life of individuals with physical and/or developmental challenges. The facility, also known as "Katie's Pool," was built to honor the life and work of Katie York, a Y employee whose young life was cut short by a seizure disorder. Prior to her death in 2008, Katie inspired those around her with her faith, determination and dedication to serving others with disabilities through the adapted aquatics program. It was through the out-pouring of grief and support from her family, friends and the community that the necessary funds were raised to build the state-of-the-art center which opened June 2, 2010, on what would have been Katie's 23rd birthday. Since its opening, the lives of more than 1,000 individuals per month have been strengthened through the programs offered in Katie's Pool.

Katie's Pool is a 33 x 60-foot, shallow and deep-water therapy pool with a zero-entry, 42 ft. wheelchair ramp in the shallow end. Special features include specially adapted changing rooms with a lift system to accommodate challenged individuals. The pool utilizes a state-of-the-art UV sanitation system, ideal for those with illnesses that are adversely affected by standard chlorine filtration systems.

Katie's Pool is considered the largest public therapy pool in the southeast. The programs are fee-based and open to both Family Y members and non-members. An initial evaluation is required for use.

PATRIOT GUARD RIDERS (select a state)
The Patriot Guard Riders is a diverse amalgamation of riders from across the nation. We have one thing in common besides motorcycles. We have an unwavering respect for those who risk their very lives for America’s freedom and security including Fallen Military Heroes, First Responders and Honorably Discharged Veterans. If you share this respect, please join us.

We don’t care what you ride or if you ride, what your political views are, or whether you’re a hawk or a dove. It is not a requirement that you be a veteran. It doesn't matter where you’re from or what your income is; you don’t even have to ride. The only prerequisite is Respect.

Our main mission is to attend the funeral services of fallen American heroes as invited guests of the family. Each mission we undertake has two basic objectives:
1. Show our sincere respect for our fallen heroes, their families, and their communities.
2. Shield the mourning family and their friends from interruptions created by any protester or group of protesters.
We accomplish the latter through strictly legal and non-violent means.

To those of you who are currently serving and fighting for the freedoms of others, at home and abroad, please know that we are backing you. We honor and support you with every mission we carry out, and we are praying for a safe return home for all.

RiteCare® CHILDHOOD LANGUAGE PROGRAM (select your location)
In the early 1950s in Colorado, the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry of the Southern Jurisdiction of the United States initiated a program to help children with speech and language disorders. The results obtained from this program led to the establishment of RiteCare clinics to provide diagnostic evaluation and treatment of speech and language disorders, as well as learning disabilities.

Today, there are 178 RiteCare® clinics, centers, and special programs operating or planned for children and therapists located throughout the United States. Each facility is staffed by speech-language pathologists or other trained personnel. Through the support of Scottish Rite members, these clinics, centers, and programs continue to increase. The value of this philanthropy has long been apparent. Tens of thousands of youngsters across the United States have been helped significantly. With the good work of dedicated clinicians and parents, the Scottish Rite has achieved successes that could only be imagined a few years back. Children who might have remained educationally behind for a lifetime can now talk, read, and lead productive lives.
